Long hair

Callie's hair is getting long enough for me to play with it now. Here is one of the cute hairstyles we've been able to do. With her hair all done, she really does look like a little girl.

Ranch Lover

Callie loves ranch so much she will lick her plate to get it all. I don't know where she learned this, because I know we don't do it.

Grandma's visit

In November I had to call in reinforcements to help with all the Etsy orders and to help with Callie. My mother greatly volunteered. It was wonderful having her here. She doesn't get to spend much time with Callie since she lives in Wichita and we live in Boise. They connected right away and Callie enjoyed every minute. Callie even cried when grandma left to get on the plane. Here they are playing with the helmets.

Wreaths

I made this wonderful fall wreath back in September and it looked great in the family room on the big mirror. Now that I've taken it down and all my Christmas stuff. My house looks very empty. I'm looking for ideas to fill it up. Here are some of the wreaths I'm considering making for a winter/spring look. Any suggestions?

So busy

I've been so busy that I haven't had time to keep up with the blog or the cleaning around the house. I've got 4 more orders to get out and I'll be done for the year. I'm getting so excited to get these quiet books finished up and shipped out. They take a little longer than stockings do, but I have until next week to finish them up.

This year we ended up having a total of 600 orders. I still can't believe how well we did. I'm not looking forward to doing taxes though. I am getting excited to see what next year brings. I will be doing things a little different come next Christmas. I'm even excited to get some new things out at the beginning of the year.

Around the neighboorhood

It was so cold on Halloween that we only went to a few of the houses of people we knew around the neighborhood. Callie went to knock on this door and ended up pushing it open. She loved getting the candy too.

Going through her stash.

Ward Halloween Party

Callie has an obsession with babies right now. She kept walking from one carrier to the next watching the babies.

Loren having fun with the dry ice. We were asked to do the home made rootbeer and probably will be asked to do it until we move. Next year if we are asked, we plan on having Loren dressing up like a mad scientist and having glass jars around with the dry ice flowing out.
Callie finally figuring out the whole Trick or Treat thing.
And of corse Dorthy has to have her little Toto.

Halloween Costume

I know this is a little late, but I had to post my first home made costume for Callie. I knew I wanted her to be Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz and Loren and I found the cute little red shoes a while back. I didn't have a pattern for her size dress, so I looked at the picture and designed one myself in less than 2 hours. I think it came out pretty well and fit her amazingly well. For my first home made costume, I think it came out pretty cute.

Sleepy girl

I was busy doing something and finally turned around to find Callie asleep like this on the chair. I guess when your tired, you can sleep anywhere.

Burlap Tree Skirts

I finished my tree skirts last night. I made one that matched my red burlap stockings, but it took such a long time to do all the pleats that I had to charge a larger amount than what I wanted to. I want them to be available for everyone, so I created a more simple one too. I actually love both of them. Lets hope they are a hit on Etsy too!For sale at www.etsy.com/shop/turnbowdesigns

Getting busy

Life is getting busy, but I wanted to show you what I've been up to. I found some great red burlap looking fabric at the store and came home to make these. I love them. Now onto the tree skirt. For sale at www.etsy.com/shop/turnbowdesigns

Multi tasking

Callie has recently been telling us when she needs to go to the bathroom. We don't want to not take her, so we take her each time she tells us. This night we were in the middle of dinner, and she wouldn't put down her corn. You might as well teach multi tasking at an early age.

Coloring pumpkins

Today Callie got to pick a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch. We've got several growing so I thought it would be fun to color one for daddy.
Here she is showing my the coloring.
Her goofy grin and crazy hair.Carrying it to the bench. It looks so heavy.Waiting for daddy to get home, so she can give him the pumpkin.

Advertising

My Etsy site doing pretty good and I've had a few people request items for free and in turn I get free advertising with their blog. I've done a Dr. Seuss hat and a couple of coloring wallets, but I've passed on many of them. I've gotten some good feedback from it though, but the best one so far is something I didn't have to do anything. Yesterday ohdeedoh.com did an article on fabric quiet books and my COLORS book got chosen. I'm so excited! I've gotten so many views from their site. Hopefully it continues in lots of sales.

My Quiet Book

I've been making custom name books and selling them on Etsy for a while now. I've been meaning to make a generic quiet book for those who's names aren't long enough and make a pattern for others to make them self, but I just haven't had the time to do it. I had someone on Etsy want one without even seeing it, so it got my butt moving a little faster. This is my end result. I'm pretty excited about this book. Now I just need to write the pattern.

We should cage her too!

We dog sat Mandy's dog the night of her wedding, and Callie had so much fun playing with her.

More FAIR pictures

You can't go to the fair and not get food. Callie loved the corn, funnel cake, and even ate several bites of my lamb gyro. I think the fair will be on our list of activities every year. (Jennie - it was over in here in Boise, we plan on calling you next time we come over that direction).

Petting Zoo

The Western Idaho State Fair even had a petting zoo. Callie loved all the animals. I think the best was watching Loren seeing her interact with the animals. She wasn't afraid at all of feeding and petting the larger animals.

Butterflies

We went to the fair back in August and they had a butterfly exhibit. Callie loved it seeing all the butterflies, but it was hard not allowing her to touch them.

Canning with a child

Loren and I have been canning like crazy lately and to keep Callie entertained we usually put the box of rings on the ground for her to play with. All of a sudden she was being quiet, so I turned around to find her playing in a bottle of pectin that I forgot was in the box. I couldn't be mad at her because I was the one who gave it to her.
