Callie Walking Up a Storm

The Escape Artist

New item for sale

It's been 3 months in the making, but I finally finished the card table play tent. I had to do a lot of seam ripping on this thing. I really like it now though. The first design had all sides sown, but with Callie crawling, she couldn't always find the door. Those got taken apart and the corners are all open, but then she started pulling it off every time she crawled out. Then I added buttons halfway down each corner to be able to be adjusted. The whole thing is lined with a darker fabric allowing it to be dark inside. I'm going to try to sell this one on Etsy, so I can make a different one for me. I would like a natural color one I can keep up in the family room and hide all the toys in. Callie sure does like crawling in and out of it and playing peak-a-boo.

This isn't the best shot of Callie's first steps because she was too interested in the camera. Hopefully I can hide the camera and get a better video.

9 Months

I just now got around to doing Callie's 9 month photos. It is getting way to hard to get a good picture of her. I miss the days she couldn't move. She always reaches for the camera or tried to get me. She is the cutest little girl though. Every time I say cheese, she smiles really big. I love her toothy (4 teeth) smile.
This past month Callie has learned how to cuddle, knows who mom and dad is and says it to the right person, and has learned that she needs to crawl faster to the dog door to beat us there. Callie loves books and will bring you books she wants you to read. She has experienced her first ear infection (at least we think so, the Dr. wasn't sure).
She has opened several wrapped gifts. Callie's hand eye coordination is great and continues to improve. She loves to play with her bean bags, books, and pacifiers. She hates getting into her car seat. Callie loves to be naughty by crawling out the dog door, playing with the plant rocks, and splashing in the dog water.
We love you with all our heart.

Christmas 2010

Christmas was wonderful this year. Loren and I were able to spend Christmas eve and Christmas morning by ourselves with our sweet Callie. Christmas eve Callie wore her new Christmas jammies and we allowed her to open a gift from Grandma Smith. She got 2 CD's, but thought they were books. She tried and tried to turn the pages, but nothing turned. She was getting so angry that we let her open up some books. I even let Loren open his footy jammies.
In the morning, we slept in until 8 when Callie woke us up. We opened the rest of our gifts with Callie's help. Callie just loved the building blocks from her cousin. We then packed up the car and went over to Loren's sisters house. There we had breakfast and opened more gifts. Callie got spoiled; a book, lawn mower, tent, bath toys, and crawling tube. She loved them all.We then came back to our house and started cooking dinner. We had a wonderful dinner of Ham, Turkey, funeral potatoes, Stuffing, Squash casserole, green beans and cheese sauce, and homemade rolls. It was just delightful. We had a wonderful Christmas. We hope you all did too!

Greatest man in history, Jesus, had no servants, yet they called Him Master. Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. Had no medicine, yet they called Him Healer. Had no army, yet kings feared Him. Won no military battles, yet conquered the world. Wronged no man, yet suffered for the wrongs of all men. Committed no ...crime, yet they crucified Him. Was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

Merry CHRISTmas everyone!

Etsy Sales

I opened my Etsy shop on November 12th of this year. Loren and I thought I might sell 2-3 stockings. Sales were way above our expectations. I ended up selling a total of 27 stockings, 1 set of bean bags, and 1 ugly sweater. I even designed 2 stockings for a lady out of Texas. I'm so greatful that I could make and sell these this year. Making the stockings when people order them was a little too stressful especially when I had 7 sales in one day, so I am planning on making stockings all year long to have a back stock for next year's Etsy and for craft shows here in Idaho. I even plan on designing more appliques for the stockings and doing different shapes and styles. I have so many ideas on what to do, I don't know when I'll have the time.

My goal for next year is grow Turnbow Designs and to sell 50 stockings plus additional products (tree skirts, baby blankets, table play tents, etc.). I'm so excited to see where I can take this little business and how much I can make just doing this at home.

Here is a sneak peak of one of the gaming (World of Warcraft) designs:

Callie's new friends

I've been watching one of my friend's boys the past week and Callie has loved playing with them. She will follow Brady around all day. She plays very well. They do like to make a mess together though.

The little Explorer

Callie loves getting in everything. Here are a few pictures of her exploring.

Jammies

I'm sorry most of my pictures of Callie are when she is in her jammies, but I love her in her jammies. She looks so comfy and I know that she is warm. I do change her, but it is usually after her first nap. Isn't she too cute!

My little helper

Callie wants to be involved in everything, so I try to include her in the day to day tasks. I remember when I was little and how I would help my mom push the wet clothes into the dryer. Now Callie helps me. I love these small teaching opportunities.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Well it's a little late, but I just got around to taking pictures of Callie with her Turkey. I have to put Callie on a chair so she will sit still, but you can see that Callie found out that she can drop the turkey off the chair. Then she figured out that when the camera flashes you are suppose to smile. It was too cute seeing her smile for the camera. As Thanksgiving passed and Christmas is quickly approaching, I have been thinking of the many things I'm thankful for. I'm so thankful this year for my family near and far. I'm thankful for Callie choosing us to be her family. I'm thankful for our health. I'm thankful for the food that we have to put on our table each day. I'm thankful I can stay home and raise our children. I'm thankful for Loren's job and the income he brings home to keep us warm and fed everyday. I'm thankful for Loren and the wonderful husband and father that he is. I'm thankful this season for our Heavenly Father and for his son Jesus Christ who died for us that we might return to him someday. I'm thankful for eternal families, that I may spend eternity with the ones I love. Happy Thanksgiving!

My Present

Who wouldn't want a present like this for Christmas?
