15 weeks

Our growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). They are busy moving amniotic fluid through their nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in their lungs begin to develop. Their legs are growing longer than their arms now, and they can move all of her joints and limbs. Although their eyelids are still fused shut, they can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, they are likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but they are forming taste buds. If we wanted to find out the sex of the baby, we could this week.

Life is good right now. We went to the doctor on Monday and we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. It was neat to hear, and I'm glad Loren was there to experience it with me. As for changes right now, I'm not feeling as sick. Even though there are still days that I'm not my best. I'm still exhausted all the time (don't know if it is the pregnancy or the cat sleeping on me at night). I can feel my belly starting to stretch and all those muscles are starting to relax. At night I'm starting to feel cramps in my legs coming on, but I haven't gotten one yet. I'm still enjoying my nightly messages which help me to go to sleep and stay asleep, thanks to Loren. We are excited for the weeks ahead with all they will bring.
